Mindfulness nuggets for challenging times
To offer community support, the teachers at The Mindfulness Centre offer free, drop-in, teacher-led online meditation sessions to help us remain grounded and present in these unprecedented COVID times.
It seems, as never before in our lifetime, the certainty of life’s uncertainty has become ever more apparent. The not knowing, the anxiety, the social isolation, and disruption of routines seem to be seeping more deeply into our everyday lives. And yet paradoxically this is a time when connection to ourselves and to each other is essential for our survival.
Each one of us as human beings have the capacity for deep inner wisdom and the resources to meet our struggles and hold our experiences in the gentle container of mindfulness and compassion. The silver lining in the current climate of quarantine and disrupted schedules is the opportunity to practice our mindful and self-compassion skills and connect more fully to the inherent wholeness of our being.
As such, we at The Mindfulness Centre would like to offer free, drop-in, teacher-lead, online meditations to help us remain grounded and present in these unprecedented times. The teachers at the Mindfulness Centre will host weekly sessions of connection via Zoom to practice a guided meditation and offer support for our community.
The resources for each of the free COVID offerings sessions are to be found by clicking here.
This free program does not require any registration, nor any previous mindfulness meditation experience. When the time of the session comes, just click on the ‘Join session now‘ button to enter our Zoom community.
Our teachers, Drs. Macdonald, Ang and Treyvaud, as well as Marlene Van Esch, MSW, take turns leading the sessions.
Every session lasts 45 minutes, and may have a slightly different structure, essentially with a short introduction, a 20-30 minutes meditation and an opportunity to ask questions.
