It seems, as never before in our lifetime, the certainty of life’s uncertainty has become ever more apparent. The not knowing, the anxiety, the social isolation, and disruption of routines seem to be seeping more deeply into our everyday lives. And yet paradoxically this is a time when connection to ourselves and to each other is essential for our survival.
Each one of us as human beings have the capacity for deep inner wisdom and the resources to meet our struggles and hold our experiences in the gentle container of mindfulness and compassion. The silver lining in the current climate of quarantine and disrupted schedules is the opportunity to practice our mindful and self-compassion skills and connect more fully to the inherent wholeness of our being.
As such, we at The Mindfulness Centre would like to offer free, drop-in, teacher-lead, online meditations to help us remain grounded and present in these unprecedented times. The teachers at the Mindfulness Centre will host weekly sessions of connection via Zoom to practice a guided meditation and offer support for our community.
